Renew Drivers License

If You Have a Valid License

Lost or Stolen License

You can renew your license if the expiration date is coming up soon. If it is not time for your license to expire, then you will need to replace it.

Renewing Your License In Person

You will need to provide a proof of identity. This includes things such as a passport, birth certificate or your current driver’s license. You will also need to provide a secondary document such as a college ID, marriage certificate or military ID.

You will need to bring your Social Security card. Additionally, you will need to bring a copy of your proof of address. This can be a utility bill that you received in the past 90 days or bank statements that you received within the past 60 days. You will also need to bring your payment.

Renewing By Mail

If you choose to renew by mail, then you will need to mail in an application. You will need to send in a money order or check. You should receive your new driver’s license within 10 days.

Fees to Renew Your License

It costs $24 to renew a Class D/E license. It costs $42 to renew a Class D license with a motorcycle endorsement. You can pay with a credit card, debit card, check or money order at the DMV. You can only use a check or money order to pay for your license by mail.
